A Message from Mayor James L. Nutt
To the Citizens of Eutawville,
I want to sincerely thank each of you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your mayor. It is an honor I do not take lightly. My goal is to lead this community with full transparency and a commitment to doing what is best for our town. But I also know that no mayor can do it alone—revitalizing and strengthening Eutawville requires all of us working together. Although I carry the title of mayor, it is the collective effort of our citizens that will shape the future of our small town while preserving the close-knit atmosphere we all love.
Our first priority is rebuilding the Eutawville Police Department with integrity at its core. We will bring in officers who have compassion, professionalism, and a true love for this community.
Our second priority is to inspect and replace aging fire hydrants throughout the Eutawville Waterworks system. This is critical to ensuring our fire department has dependable access to multiple water sources during emergencies, and to guarantee that our residents and business owners never face inadequate water supply in their time of need.
Our third priority is developing a comprehensive plan for the retired St. James Gaillard Elementary School, graciously donated to the town by the Orangeburg County School District. This historic landmark shaped generations of young minds, and our vision is to breathe new life into it—transforming it into a vibrant community hub that brings much-needed resources closer to home. We aim to create a space that supports our youth, engages our families, and provides our seniors with assistance as everyday technology and services continue to evolve.
There is much work ahead, and these priorities are only the first steps into the future we are building together. I encourage every citizen to get involved, share ideas, participate in community efforts, and help us create a bright and thriving new chapter for the Town of Eutawville.
Thank you for your trust, your support, and your partnership.
Mayor James L. Nutt
